| ABOUT |
Neil
has been producing illustrations and designs for the last 16 years. He
originally started in product design but got more into drawing the products
than designing them! From there he went from product design to technical
illustration producing exploded views, schematic and product renderings
for various manufacturing industries and product design consultancies.
In 1993 he took the plunge and went freelance to further develop his brand
of illustration. |

INFLUENCES |
Neil was severely influenced by comic art and the futuristic concept art of Stanley Matthews, Roger Dean and Chris Foss. 2000AD was probably his biggest influence which as he puts it was much more interesting than Marvel. In terms of caricatures he is particularly inspired by Malky McCormack. |
| TECHNIQUE |
Neil uses propelling pencils, fibre tips, coloured pencils, acrylics, chalk and pantone/magic markers. He still draws by hand but increasingly the drawings tend to be scanned and coloured in the computer. For live caricature events he uses the Pentel Sign Pen. |
